Ohio State is donating money it received as a result of Penn State's bowl sanctions to two child advocacy groups, the Associated Press reports. The Buckeyes announced on Monday that they will donate $181,000 to Nationwide Children's Hospital Center for Family Safety and Healing and the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Franklin County.

As part of the NCAA's landmark sanctions against Penn State following the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal, the Nittany Lions were required to relinquish $2.3 million of the Big Ten's bowl revenue that the school would have earned if it were eligible for the postseason. That money was split between the league's 12 members, including Penn State, to donate to children-focused charities.
