Defensive end Josh Sweat, regarded as the top prospect in the Class of 2015, was carted off the field Friday night after suffering a serious leg injury in his high school game, according to ESPN.com.

Sweat reportedly dislocated his left kneecap and will be sidelined indefinitely. The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder from Oscar Frommel Smith High in Chesapeake, Virginia, was scheduled for a recruiting trip to Virginia Tech this weekend, according to ESPN, and he has already made visits to Florida State, Oregon, Georgia and Ohio State.

Sweat was injured in the second quarter of a 56-14 win over Western Branch.

"It's hard, but I have 50 other [players on the team]," coach Richard Morgan told Larry Rubama of The Virginian-Pilot through tears. "But you have to put it in the back of your mind and finish the game the way Josh would want you to finish the game. All you can do is pray and hope that everything is all right."

There was a 20-minute delay at the time of Sweat's injury, Rubama reports.
