ACC title game odds: Georgia Tech hot ahead of Florida State matchup

The Florida State Seminoles are 28-0 SU over their last 28 games and are one win away from their second straight 13-0 SU regular season. The Seminoles will try to earn that win Saturday night in the ACC championship game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Florida State is currently a four-point favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Seminoles are 0-5 ATS in their last five games against Georgia Tech but do hold a 3-2 SU advantage over those five games.

The Seminoles survived another nail-biter to come out on top against the Florida Gators last week, fending off a late drive by the Gators to protect their 26-21 lead. Jameis Winston struggled through his worst game of the season and threw four interceptions, but the defense bailed him out with a strong showing throughout the game. Dating back to last year’s championship game, Florida State is just 3-10 ATS despite a 13-0 SU record over that stretch.

Georgia Tech, which is 4-0 SU and ATS run over its last four conference games, had already locked up its spot in the ACC championship game heading into its final regular season game at Georgia. As a 10.5-point underdog in that game, the Yellow Jackets pulled off a 30-24 upset over a Bulldogs team that had been playing well. That upset, along with Georgia Tech's 22.8-point average margin of victory over its last five games, makes the Yellow Jackets a very legitimate threat to the Seminoles.

Saturday's total is set at 60.5 points on the college football betting lines. The UNDER is 4-0 in Florida State's last four games and 6-3 in Georgia Tech's last nine games.

Florida State's propensity to play close games and Georgia Tech's excellent play down the stretch indicate a potentially thrilling game in this year's ACC championship. The Seminoles have successfully navigated through plenty of close calls this season but may need to be at their best to fend off the Yellow Jackets in this one.
