Jury finds two guilty on all charges in Vanderbilt rape trial
Former Vanderbilt football players Brandon Vandenburg and Cory Batey were each found guilty on all charges by a Nashville jury on Tuesday, according to the Tennessean. The two were on the trial after being accused of raping a female student in a campus dorm room.
Vandenburg and Batey were part of four former Commodores players who were charged after allegedly raping an unconscious female student on June 23, 2013. They were later dismissed by the school and pleaded not guilty.
Batey was found guilty on five charges of aggravated rape and two charges of aggravated sexual battery, while Vandenburg was found guilty of the same plus charges tampering of evidence and unlawful photography.
Trials are still pending for the other two players who face charges.
Batey and Vandenburg will be sentenced on March 6, 2015.
