College football Week 2 odds: Betting lines for biggest matchups

An early look at the odds in some of the biggest games of Week 2 in college football, including TCU-Arkansas and Louisville-Syracuse.

The Louisville Cardinals are 16–4 straight up and 13–7 against the spread in their last 20 games played in the month of September. The Cardinals will try to keep that trend going this Friday night on the road against the Syracuse Orange.

Louisville is a 14.5-point road favorite at the Carrier Dome at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Orange are 5–0 ATS in their last five games at home despite going just 2–3 SU over that stretch. Syracuse is 1–13 SU in its last 14 games against teams with a winning record.

Louisville at Syracuse is one of two games on the college football card this Friday night. The other is Maryland at Florida International, with Maryland going off as a 10-point road favorite. Maryland is 4–0 SU in its last four games against FIU and has won each of the last three games in this series by at least two touchdowns.

Week 1 takeaways: The biggest things we learned from opening Saturday

The Michigan Wolverines easily covered the spread as 36.5-point favorites last Saturday against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, winning at home by a score of 63–3. The Wolverines are once again big favorites this week, going off as 36-point chalk at home against the Central Florida Knights.

UCF broke out of an 0–13 SU and 2–11 ATS slump last Saturday with a 38–0 win over South Carolina State in its season opener.

The TCU Horned Frogs opened as 4-point home favorites against the Arkansas Razorbacks this Saturday, but that line has moved steadily toward TCU as the Horned Frogs are now going off at -7.5.

Both teams had issues in their season openers with TCU giving up 41 points to South Dakota State in a 59–41 win and Arkansas narrowly defeating Louisiana Tech 21–20. The Razorbacks are 8–2 ATS in their last 10 games against Big 12 opponents.

Alabama and Clemson both picked up wins in their season openers, and both are big favorites at home in Week 2. Alabama hosts Western Kentucky as a 28.5-point favorite while Clemson is a 36-point favorite at home against Troy.

Clemson is 16–0 SU in its last 16 games at home, according to the OddsShark College Football Database, and boasts a 6–2 ATS record in its last eight games played in the month of September.
