Florida forward Keyontae Johnson is in critical but stable condition after collapsing on the court in the first half of Saturday's game, school officials tell Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger.

With the Gators leading 11–3 over Florida State, Johnson—the SEC Preseason Player of the Year—collapsed at midcourt as Florida was coming out of a timeout. Johnson, a junior, was taken to the locker room on a stretcher. Several Florida players were in tears on the sideline.

Johnson was taken to Tallahassee Memorial hospital, according to the ESPN broadcast. The reason for Johnson's collapse is still unknown. Dellenger reports that the junior had COVID-19 back in July.

Jeff Goodman of Stadium tweeted that Gators coach Mike White will remain in Tallahassee while the team heads back to Gainesville. White tweeted to keep Johnson and his family in prayer.

Through three games, Johnson has averaged 19.7 points and six rebounds. He left the game with five points. He averaged 14 points and 7.1 rebounds last season.

Florida State sent out a message of support on Twitter in the first half following Johnson's collapse.

The Gators are currently flying his family to Tallahassee, The Gainesville Sun's Graham Hall reported.

Florida State defeated Florida 83–71. The Gators' football team hosts LSU on Saturday night, and Florida walk-on Clifford Taylor will carry Johnson's basketball jersey onto the field during the pregame Senior Day ceremonies, according to Dellenger.

On Sunday, the school said in a statement that Johnson remained in critical but stable condition at Tallahassee Memorial.
