Robert Griffin III Caught Barry Sanders Napping at Heisman House, and Fans Had Jokes

With Nissan seemingly shooting its annual round of Heisman House commercials for the ESPN family of networks this fall, college football is just around the corner.

Whether Hall of Fame Oklahoma State running back Barry Sanders will be awake in time for his team's opener against Central Arkansas remains to be seen.

Baylor quarterback great Robert Griffin III—the 2011 Heisman winner—filmed the 1988 winner snoozing on a couch during the shoot, laughing silently as Sanders dozed off oblivious to the commotion around him.

Griffin III, incidentally, won his Heisman in the first year of Nissan's popular campaign.

Fans predictably chuckled alongside Griffin.

Some took the opportunity to praise Nissan's advertisements, traditionally standouts in a commercial-heavy sport.

Sanders’s quality of sleep was also praised—possibly to make up for his 2,628-yard final year with the Cowboys.

Once awake, Sanders took the opportunity to clown his fellow Heisman winners.

Griffin, meanwhile, confirmed to the public that Sanders had risen.
