Recruiting Rundown: Everything's Bigger in Tuscaloosa

In this story:
The University of Alabama is preparing for one of the biggest weekends of the year as the Alabama football team is hosting the University of Texas on Saturday.
ESPN's College GameDay leads the charge as they'll broadcast from Denny Chimes along with nearly every major college sports television and show in the marketplace.
Thousands of Alabama and Texas fans will descend on Tuscaloosa to celebrate both universities colliding on the gridiron under the lights in Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday. So why not take advantage of the hoopla and host the biggest recruiting weekend of the year?
That's exactly what the Crimson Tide football and basketball programs have planned as the visitor list for this weekend reaches uncharted territory.
News and Notes
• 4-star offensive lineman Jordan Seaton recently shook up his top schools list. The IMG product who stands at 6-5, 287 pounds told On3's Josh Newberg that Alabama was his leading school, but seems to be cooling on LSU, Florida and Oklahoma. Instead Seaton has said that Florida State and Colorado have picked up steam in his recruitment.
• 4-star combo-guard Jase Richardson took a visit to Tuscaloosa this past weekend for the MTSU game. Richardson came away raving about the development in the Alabama basketball program and seemed very excited about the Crimson Tide on his social media. The 6-2 guard will take official visits to Michigan State and Cincinnati before making his commitment, likely in October.

Checking out the Capstone
Football isn't the only sport taking advantage of the massive weekend. Alabama basketball and head coach Nate Oats are hosting several highly coveted prospects at the Capstone.
• 2024 5-star forward Kon Knueppel will make an official visit to Tuscaloosa according to 247Sports. The 6-5 wing is considered the No. 1 player in the state of Wisconsin and appears to be choosing between the Tide, Duke, Virginia and Wisconsin.
• 2024 4-star forward Tyler Betsey is coming to town this weekend for an official visit according to 247Sports. The 6-8 forward is considered the No. 1 player in the state of Connecticut and told Joe Tipton of On3 Sports he's down to a top seven of Duke, UCONN, Alabama, Indiana, Cincinnati, Creighton and Villanova.
• 2025 5-star forward Caleb Wilson will make a trip to T-town, according to Andrew Bone of On3, as he begins thinking about his future. The 6-10 post player is considered the top player in Georgia and the No. 4 player in the 2025 class by the 247Sports Composite.
• 2026 5-star prospect Caleb Holt out of Buckhorn High School in Alabama plans on coming to Tuscaloosa. The 6-5 forward was offered an Alabama scholarship in April, and is also being pursued by Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, and Houston as just a sophomore.
