UC Basketball Locked Into AAC Tournament’s 4-5 Seed Matchup Heading Into Final Regular Season Game

Cincinnati cannot move up to three or down to six, no matter what happens this weekend.

CINCINNATI — UC is now locked into the 4-5 seed game in next week's AAC Tournament. Temple sealed a rematch with UC by beating UCF 57-55 on Thursday night followed by a Tulane win over East Carolina on Friday.

The Bearcats and Owls face each other in Texas next Friday afternoon on the ESPN family of networks.

The win means Cincinnati cannot move up to the No. 3 seed. Temple plays Tulane in the final game of the season and even if they beat the Green Wave, they'll each be tied at 11-7.

Cincinnati will enter that tie with a win over SMU, but Tulane gets the three seed by tiebreaker because they are the only one of the three that beat Memphis this year.

The Bearcats and Owls are two games up on Wichita State, so Sunday's result against SMU is meaningless for seeding.
