CINCINNATI —  The 2024 season went pretty well for Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby, despite a 5-7 record, leaving the door open to explore other opportunities in college football. Yet, he never wavered from his stance to stay and discussed the reasoning on ESPNU during Big 12 Media Days.

Sorsby now carries continuity throughout his offensive coaching staff into a big 2025 season for Cincinnati. He posted a 64.0% completion rate for 2,813 yards, 18 TDs and seven INTs while adding 447 yards and nine TDs rushing.

"I don't want to be known as the guy that's just bouncing around place to place," Sorsby said. "I want to be the reason that we're here in Dallas. I love Cincinnati. We started out really hot, we beat some really good teams, and we lost some close ones to some really good teams. And I know that this team could be special. I knew that the system fits me. I can run a little bit. I like to think so, obviously, Coach Satt likes to run the quarterback. And I don't want to be known as the guy that's just bouncing around place to place, I want to be the reason that we're here in Dallas, playing for a Big 12 Championship and I feel like we have the group of guys that do that."

Cincinnati is hovering around a six-win mark on most projections entering the season, but anything can happen in a conference this tightly packed talent-wise. Cincinnati's new facilities could be the edge to tip the scales at least into bowl territory, along with more explosive talent to throw to.

Sorsby was arguably a top-30 quarterback last season and has all of the historic signs of a player ready to level up on the ground and through the air after staying the course in Clifton. 2024 provided plenty of experience for the young playmaker, now he can light a consistent winning fire on top of it.
