CINCINNATI — UC is losing its assistant defensive backs coach to a promotion at South Dakota. 247Sports's Matt Zenitz reports he is taking the open cornerbacks coach position with the Coyotes.

Finney linked up as part of the Cincinnati football staff as a defensive quality control assistant in Spring 2024 and closely worked with the corners, who improved mightily last season compared to 2023.

Finney arrived in Clifton from Iowa Western Community College, where he worked for seven years as the defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator. He helped the Reivers notch back-to-back NJCAA titles in 2022 and 2023.

Cincinnati is a few weeks away from starting spring practice.
