Mario Eugenio Reveals College Announcement Date

The Bearcats' recruit ranks sixth in SI99's defensive end rankings.

CINCINNATI — Class of 2022 defensive end Mario Eugenio revealed when he is making his college decision. The Gaither High School (Clearwater, Fla.) senior told Gus Ramos that Saturday, Nov. 27 is the day he'll pick the next stop in his football career.

"So you have offers from all across the country, and you narrowed them down to a few," Ramos said. "When are you going to make your big decision?"

"I will be making my big decision Saturday, at 11 a.m.," Eugenio responded with a smile before shutting down a question about what part of the country he might choose.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound mauler has offers from 20-plus schools, including Arkansas, Oregon, and Arizona State. His recruitment has boiled down to two teams: Cincinnati and Michigan. Eugenio de-committed from the Wolverines last month and has only made one school visit this season.

That came last weekend in Cincinnati's 48-14 domination of SMU, which Eugenio seemed to enjoy from his interview with SI All-American.

He checked in at No. 71 on the SI99 preseason rankings and is their sixth-ranked edge defender in the 2022 class. Bearcat fans are hoping to bolster the future pass rush with one of Florida's top sack artists.
