What to Know - Notre Dame: This is the home finale for the Fighting Irish, who have won four straight Senior Day games dating back to 2017. A total of 25 seniors will be recognized before the game. Senior Isaiah Foskey has 5.5 sacks over the last four games to bring his season total to 8.5 (9th in the nation) and his career total to 24.0 He needs just one sack to move past Irish great Justin Tuck’s school record of 24.5 sacks. The Fighting Irish have scored at least 35 points in four straight games. The only time they scored 35 or more points in five consecutive games was 1943. Michael Mayer enters the game (which is also likely to be the last at Notre Dame Stadium for the junior) with at least one reception in 34 straight games. He is the only tight end in the nation with a catch in 30+ games.

What to Know – Boston College: Saturday’s game will be the 27th all-time meeting between Notre Dame and the Eagles. It will be the 11th time the only two Catholic FBS programs have met since 2007. There are plenty of Notre Dame ties with BC. Former Irish back-up quarterback Phil Jurkovec will make his return to Notre Dame Stadium since transferring after the 2019 season. He career has been injury riddled the last two seasons and has not played since BC’s Oct. 29 loss to UConn, but he is expected to play if he is healthy. Former Irish tight ends coach John McNulty is in his first season as the Eagles offensive coordinator. The Eagles rank last in the nation (No. 131) with just 61.4 rushing yards per game. They’re also No. 126 in sacks allowed (39/3.9 per game). Tight end George Takacs has 24 receptions for 248 yards since transferring from Notre Dame to BC this season. He had eight total catches for 78 yards from 2019-2021 at Notre Dame.
