Notre Dame Recruiting Roundup - November 13th

In this story:
Even when Notre Dame is on a bye week, recruiting never stops. With the Irish program getting a new commitment this past week, that took a large portion of the attention. However, that wasn’t the only bit of news.
Here is everything that you may have missed in the wonderful world of recruiting. It promises to continue to heat up down the stretch of the 2023 season.
DOMINIK HULAK COMMITS TO NOTRE DAME
Notre Dame received a big commitment on Friday from 2025 Elmhurst (Ill.) Immaculate Conception defender Dominik Hulak, who chose the Irish over offers from Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Purdue, Illinois, Louisville and Iowa State among others. When you ask Immaculate Conception head coach William Krefft, Hulak is just such a seamless fit for Notre Dame. It makes a lot of sense.
While Notre Dame had been in a good spot with Hulak for some time, they really closed the deal down the stretch. The Irish staff pushed all the right buttons over the last couple of weeks.
One way they closed on the Illinois native was their pitch, which of course was as a person and student. The staff also made sure that Hulak understood thoroughly how he would potentially fit on this field, including a unique position to fit his strengths.
When you dive into Hulak’s film, it’s pretty easy to get excited about the versatility that he brings. There isn’t much he can’t do on the field defensively.
LATEST IN RECRUITING
Over the last couple of days, Notre Dame recruits have been in action. For a majority of them, the playoffs have begun. The action started on Thursday with 2025 defensive tackle commit Davion Dixon, who is hoping to lead Miami Palmetto to a state championship.
There was also a long list of Notre Dame commits who were in action on Friday and Saturday. It was largely a lot of dynamic performances and big wins over those two days.
I recapped all of those performances. Once again the future of the Irish program was on full display.
Aside from previewing the Notre Dame commits in action, I also wanted to let everyone know where key Irish targets were going to be visiting this weekend. It’s important to keep track of the visits that the recruits are taking.
RECRUITING UPDATES
Star 2025 Honolulu (Hawaii) Punahou linebacker Josiah Kia joined the Irish Breakdown podcast recently for a live interview. During that show, Kia went in depth on his relationship with Notre Dame and the overall current state of his recruitment.
When you talk about priority recruits in the 2025 recruiting class, there aren’t many bigger than Chicago (Ill.) Simeon defensive end Christopher Burgess. The talented pass rusher updated his recruitment, including his increasing relationship with Notre Dame.
Another priority recruit in the class is 2025 Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange safety Ivan Taylor. What makes Taylor such a great football player potentially? I did a deep dive into his film.
RECRUITS OF THE PAST
Former Notre Dame cornerback Devin Butler also joined the Irish Breakdown podcast recently. Butler reminisced on his own recruiting process and how things have changed over the last few years. It was a tremendous conversation.
