What NFL WR Did C.J. Stroud Say He Wants to Team Up With?

C.J. Stroud didn't exactly name a wideout, but he revealed one clue that left fans and analysts guessing as to who the former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback was talking about.

C.J. Stroud was sitting in a red Autotrader hoodie with the microphone in hand.

He opened the TikTok with Boardroom hesitant saying, "Ah man! This almost got me in trouble earlier." The question he was answering: "The NFL wide receiver C.J. Stroud would love to team up with."

Stroud said he didn't "want to stir up the pot" before saying the retired wide receiver he would've wanted to play with is Chad Johnson, which led him to hint at the active NFL pass-catcher he'd want to link up with.

"If you know anything about who Ochocinco loves, that'll give you your answer," Stroud said. "So if you watch Ochocinco, who his favorite route-runner is in the league, that's who I would like to throw to."

Johnson posted a video in August 2019 in which he was in tears talking about then-Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams' route-running during one-on-ones and 7-on-7s.

The 11-year retired NFL veteran said "it wasn't even route-running," but rather it was "art."

Adams is now with the Las Vegas Raiders who hold the No. 7 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and they will be looking for a quarterback after releasing longtime signal caller Derek Carr Tuesday.

Stroud was projected as the No. 1 selection to the Indianapolis Colts via a trade with the Chicago Bears in 247Sports' last mock draft, while being selected No. 9 to the Carolina Panthers in Pro Football Focus' latest draft simulation.
