Four-Star Recruiting Targets That Oregon Ducks Fans Should Know

For those who are following the Oregon Ducks' 2027 recruiting class closely, keep an eye on offensive tackle Jake Hildebrand, cornerback Darius Johnson, and wide receiver Julian Caldwell.

The Oregon Ducks' 2027 recruiting class is in the very early stages, currently ranked No. 13 in all of college football and No. 4 in the Big Ten Conference behind the No. 3 Nebraska Cornhuskers, No. 2 USC Trojans, and No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes.

Coach Dan Lanning's future group of talent only holds five commits at the moment.

Here are the five 2027 recruits looking to make Eugene, Oregon, their future home:

  • Four-star defensive lineman Zane Rowe (Little Elm, Texas)
  • Four-star running back Cadarius McMiller (Tyler, Texas)
  • Four-star defensive lineman Cam Pritchett (Alabaster, Alabama)
  • Three-star offensive tackle Avery Michael (Turlock, California)
  • Three-star athlete Sam Ngata (Salt Lake City, Utah)

Lanning, along with first-year defensive coordinator Chris Hampton and first-year offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer, has three other names to monitor out of the 2027 class. All are considering the Ducks in their recruitment process.

Four-Star Offensive Tackle Jake Hildebrand

No. 94-ranked overall player, No. 9-ranked offensive tackle, No. 2-ranked recruit in Arizona (per Rivals)

According to Rivals' Brandon Huffman, 2027's Hildebrand from Basha in Chandler, Arizona, has narrowed down his final four schools to Oregon, Texas A&M Aggies, Arizona State Sun Devils, and the Utah Utes.

Hildebrand is working on official visits with the Ducks and Aggies, but already has scheduled dates with the Sun Devils on June 12 and the Utes on June 15.

The 6-5 and 270-pound talent in the trenches helped lead Basha to an Arizona Open Division state championship during his junior season.

Four-Star Cornerback Darius Johnson

No. 251-ranked overall player, No. 26-ranked cornerback, No. 22-ranked recruit in California (per Rivals)

2027's Johnson from Murrieta Valley, California, is hearing mostly from the Ducks, Michigan Wolverines, and California Golden Bears as of right now, according to Rivals' Adam Gorney.

He unofficially visited Ann Arbor recently on March 28 and will be returning officially on May 29.

Standing 6-1 and weighing a lean 155 pounds, Johnson finished with 29 total tackles (22 solo, seven assisted), 10 pass deflections, two fumble recoveries, one sack, and one interception through 12 games played in his junior season.

Four-Star Wide Receiver Julian Caldwell

No. 78-ranked overall player, No. 16-ranked wide receiver, No. 10-ranked recruit in Texas (per Rivals)

2027's Caldwell is down to five schools, he told Rivals' Hayes Fawcett. Besides Oregon and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the rest come from his home state of Texas with the SMU Mustangs, Texas Longhorns, and Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Caldwell will officially visit the Pacific Northwest on June 12. He will also make his rounds around the state of Texas, starting at Dallas on May 1, Lubbock on June 5, and finishing with Austin on June 19. No date to South Bend, Indiana, has been announced at this point in time.

During this past 2025 season as a junior, the 6-1, 185-pound product from Argyle, Texas, collected 1,737 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns on 94 receptions in 14 games played.
