Coach Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks landed some big names in the transfer portal this offseason. Oregon’s top rated incoming transfer is former Nevada Wolfpack offensive tackle Isaiah World. World is rated as a five-star transfer and was ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the portal.

In addition to World, Oregon landed seven four-stars; interior offensive lineman Emmanuel Pregnon, running back Makhi Hughes, wide receiver Malik Benson, tight end Jamari Johnson, defensive lineman Bear Alexander, offensive tackle Alex Harley, and safety Dillon Thieneman.

On the other side of things, the Ducks have lost 13 players to the portal. Out of these 13, two were rated as four-star transfers; cornerback Khamari Terrell and quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele. Terrell was with the Ducks in 2022 through 2024, but only played in 22 total games. Sagapolutele on the other hand was a class of 2025 recruit that flipped from the California Golden Bears to Oregon on national signing day. Just a few weeks later, Sagapolutele entered the portal and transferred to California.

The Ducks have had a good history in the transfer portal under Dan Lanning. It starts at the quarterback position, where in each season under Lanning they have relied on incoming transfers Bo Nix and Dillon Gabriel. Dante Moore transferred to Oregon last season and is in line to be the Ducks starting quarterback this fall.

Even outside of quarterback, the Ducks knocked it out of the park in the 2024 portal. Some of the biggest contributors to the Ducks Big Ten-winning squad were in their first year in Eugene; cornerback Jabbar Muhammad, wide receiver Evan Stewart, defensive lineman Derrick Harmon, and safety Kobe Savage. This 2024 class ranked No. 2 per 247Sports.

The spring transfer window for college football opened on April 16 and will close on April 25. There have been some massive moves made across the country that have shaken up things in the college football world.

The biggest move that was made was Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava leaving Tennessee and transferring to the UCLA Bruins. This came as a huge surprise because Iamaleava was just coming of his first year as the starting quarterback for the Volunteers and helped lead them to the College Football Playoff.

Tennessee is a very prestigious programs and having their star quarterback leave for UCLA due to NIL disagreements was a shocking turn of events. UCLA on the other hand is still finding their footing in the Big Ten. In 2024, the Bruins finished 5-7 and missed out on a bowl game appearance.
