When Clemson needed someone to fill in as its scout team quarterback recently in advance of their National Championship game against LSU Monday night, defensive coordinator Brent Venables stepped up to the task. Venables, 49, wound up playing Joe Burrow against the No. 1 defense. It's something Venables has done here and there, but probably the first time he's played a Heisman winner. By all accounts, he had Burrow's mannerisms and cadences down, so we'll see how much that helps Dabo Swinney's team Monday night as it takes on LSU.
