Kazakh rider Iglinskiy suspended for doing

AIGLE, Switzerland (AP) Kazakhstan cyclist Maxim Iglinskiy has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for EPO, three weeks after his brother admitted doping with the same substance.

The International Cycling Union said Iglinskiy tested positive on Aug. 1, four days after completing the Tour de France. He placed 129th in support of Tour-winning Astana teammate Vincenzo Nibali of Italy.

Astana general manager Alexandre Vinokourov said he was ''very disappointed and angered'' that Iglinskiy had not understand the team's ethics.

''It is especially unacceptable on the part of a Kazakh rider who stands for the image of our team and the image of our country,'' said Vinokourov, who won the 2012 London Olympic road race title for the former Soviet republic.

Astana fired Iglinskiy's younger brother, Valentin, last month after he admitted doping with EPO.

Maxim Iglinskiy has been provisionally suspended by the team and faces a disciplinary case by his national cycling federation.

The 33-year-old racer's biggest success was winning the Liege-Bastogne-Liege one-day classic in 2012.

Iglinskiy has ridden for Astana since 2007, including at that year's Tour when Vinokourov's blood doping led to the team being removed from the race.
