It may not compare to officially winning his first MVP award, but it's an honor none the less.

On Tuesday, 2K Sports announced that Kevin Durant will grace the cover of NBA 2K15 (side note: Can you believe we're already at NBA 2K15), cementing his place in the used video game section of Game Stop for generations to come.

As an added bonus, Durant also happens to be a fan of the game, saying that he begged 2K to put him on the cover because he plays so often. In particular Durant said he enjoys playing the "My Player" mode, which simulates the NBA experience from a firsthand perspective, from getting drafted to retiring. Of course, this experience can also be simulated by being Kevin Durant.

Mr. Unreliable averaged a career-best 32 point per game this season -- tops in the NBA by nearly five points -- while leading the Thunder to a two-seed in the talent-laden Western Conference.

This isn't the first time Durant has appeared on the cover of a 2K game -- he previously shared top billing with Derrick Rose and Blake Griffin for NBA 2K13.

NBA 2K15 will be released on October 7, 2014.
