Yasiel Puig: Offbeat photos

One year ago today, Yasiel Puig made his major-league debut. In a short time, he's established himself as not only one of the most exciting players in baseball, but also one of the most sought-after celebs in Los Angeles. In SI's Strike Zone blog, Jay Jaffe looks at Puig's first year on the field while the above gallery features some of his more interesting offbeat photos. And if you want even more Puig, his Instagram account never disappoints.

The Walk-Off Inside-the-Park Strikeout

Montana high school student Kendyl Boltz helped her team win the state softball title by striking out with two gone in the bottom of the 7th, but scoring the winning run when the catcher dropped the third strike and then overthrew the first baseman. Let's see Yasiel Puig pull that off.

Tim Duncan Wears Jorts

In Hot Clicks, this classifies as an important news story. But if you want an actual legit Duncan story, read this oral history of the Spurs icon. If you want more jorts news, this photo of Brett Favre from 1991 should put a smile on your face.

Hot Clicks Giveaway

Skittles is now an official NFL sponsor and sent me a bunch of free stuff (backpacks, helmets, many packs of candy) to celebrate. And I'm giving it all away to you. I just need to know how many cheesesteaks the Mets consumed when they set the single-day record in Philly earlier this season. The answer was in this morning's Hot Clicks. The 10th, 20th and 30th person who emails me ( with the correct answer will receive a backpack. Please make the subject line "Skittles." The 40th, 50th and 60th person will receive a helmet. Only one email per person, please. And my friends at Skittles want you to know that you should expect the unexpected as The Rainbow prepares to celebrate the sponsorship in the months ahead.

UPDATE 4:42 p.m.: Contest is closed. Another contest coming tomorrow and then even more next week. Thanks for playing.
