This Guy's Twitter Handle Is @dwade. He Got Some Interesting Tweets Last Night.

This is Dwyane Wade. NOT Dan Wade.

2014 NBA Finals - Game Five

Dwyane Wade is a point guard for the Miami Heat, who lost the NBA Playoffs to the Spurs last night. Dan Wade is a social media manager and all-around nice guy in St. Louis, MO. It's important to note the difference between the two, because many Twitter users did not.

You see, Dan's Twitter handle is @dwade. And while Dwyane Wade's Twitter handle is the even-more-obvious @DwyaneWade, Twitter users apparently didn't feel like typing out that whole thing. After the Heat's loss last night, Dan Wade (the social media manager, NOT the basketball player) opened his Twitter mentions to see this:

Unknown

Oh dear. It seems that Dan Wade has taken a lot of heat for Dwyane Wade (no pun intended).

Pretty harsh words for a guy who doesn't even play basketball.

Dan himself noticed a strange trend in the tweets:

So remember, before you angrily tweet at a basketball star or offer any relationship advice to a celebrity, make sure you've checked that you're using the right Twitter handle.
