The Nets are finally getting rid of their weird mascot, BrooklyKnight

Rejoice! The Brooklyn Nets will not be bringing back their weird mascot BrooklyKnight next season, and the world rejoices, because he was the worst.
Actual news: Nets have informed their mascot he will not return next season, may place Brooklyn Knight character on hiatus...or worse.

Most mascots get a bad rap simply for being creepy, but BrooklyKnight went beyond just being scary, and made everyone wonder why he existed. Medieval knights have no correlation at all to Brooklyn or Nets, and his name was an odd play on Brooklynite that confused anyone who ever tried to say it out loud.
SBNation has pointed out that he was good at mascots' primary job though, making children afraid.
