The Sacramento Kings have launched a Hindi-language website

The Sacramento Kings have launched a Hindi-language version of their official website as part of the NBA's growing efforts to become a global force.

The Kings are a perfect candidate to be the face of the NBA in India as they are led by the league's first Indian-born owner Vivek Ranadive, and recently acquired Sim Bhullar, the 7-foot-5-inch Canadian son of two Indian immigrants.

Ranadive told NBA.com that he believes there is a lot of room for growth for the sport in the world's second most populous country.

"I have this vision, I call it NBA 3.0, where I want to make basketball the premier sport of the 21st century. What Yao Ming did for China, we hope players like Sim can do for India... Basketball has now become the fastest growing sport in India... I think that in the next ten years it's going to be the second most popular game in India."

QZ.com's Sharda Ugra reports that Kings' president Chris Granger hopes Sacramento will "become India's home team," although Bhullar has yet to receive a spot on the team's regular season roster.
