A.J. Pierzynski signing with Braves first reported by guy in ham store

Wednesday December 24th, 2014

The Braves have signed veteran catcher A.J. Pierzynski, according to multiple reports. The first report was from a guy in a ham store.

Ken Rosenthal explains how two teenagers scooped him

Aaron Lunsford is the drummer for a Christian rock band called As Cities Burn. His father was buying a ham for Christmas when he bumped into Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez. Gonzalez told Lunsford's dad they had just signed A.J. Pierzynski.

So Lunsford tweeted at a few reporters, asking if they could confirm the news. Sure enough, it seems like the real deal.

What a world.
