Joe Maddon really loves The Office

While the New York media obsesses over Alex Rodriguez's return to pinstripes, Cubs reporters are having plenty of fun with new manager Joe Maddon.
During media session, Joe Maddon had a hard time remembering when #Cubs will scrimmage: "I feel like Michael Scott right now."

This led to a discussion about Maddon's love of the old NBC sitcom, The Office.
Maddon on The Office:"I've been here, what, ten days?I've prob watched 20 episodes.I'd rather go to sleep at night watching something funny"

“I’m at the point now where Pam and Jim just got married and they had the baby,” Maddon added. “They’ve been switched over to Sabre. All that stuff is so good. It’s outstanding. I’d rather go to sleep at night watching something funny than something serious.”
But Maddon's affection for the series isn't limitless. He quit watching after Michael Scott, played by Steve Carrell, left the show.

Maddon's also a fan of the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Maddon is taking a pretty easy-going approach in his first season with the Cubs. He blasted Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen and Led Zeppelin during batting practice on Wednesday, and he said every player is going to get a day to pick the music.
Now, about that World Series drought...
