The Sacramento Kings bought a robot?

His name is Knightman.

Here is a photo Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé posted on Twitter, without much explanation.

All right, Vivek, who is Knightman? What does he do? Is this the updated version of R2D2 from the new Star Wars movie? After little sleuthing, we’ve figured out what it is.

It turns out this is a robotic security guard made by a Silicon Valley startup called Knightscope (of course it is). Knightscope’s website doesn’t tell you much about what the robot does, but it does explain its services in the most terrifying manner possible.
