81-year-old grandma beats her kids in the Beer Mile
81-year-old Elvira Montes just took home the award for realest grandma of all time.
Not only did she become the oldest finisher of the 2015 FloTrack Beer Mile World Championships, but with a time of 20:24, she even beat her kids.
That's right, Montes drank four 12-ounce beers and ran a mile faster than her 47-year-old daughter. Her son-in-law didn't even finish the race. Yeah, he's never going to live that one down.
Montes’ preferred drink is actually scotch. In fact, she told Kit Fox of Runner’s World that she doesn't even like beer, but when her daughter suggest they run in the event together last year, she gave it a shot.
“I don't have any secrets,” Montes said. “I just wanted to prove to my daughter that I could run and drink beer.”

She isn't stopping there. Montes said she is going to train for her third Beer Mile by drinking beer while she runs on the treadmill. She hopes to break 20 minutes next year.
As if this couldn't get any better, Montes celebrated her victory by taking her daughter to Hooters for wings and, of course, scotch.
And you thought it was cool when your grandma slipped you $20 when your mom wasn't looking. Tell nana she needs to step her game up.
