92-year-old veteran throws out Mariners first pitch
Thursday June 2nd, 2016

The SI office was taking in the Women’s College World Series on Thursday when we noticed a particularly interesting highlight from the UCLA–Auburn game.

UCLA began blowing the game in the first inning thanks in large part to a series of hit batters. The Tigers scored their third run of the game when Whitney Jordan was struck in the head by a pitch. And Jordan didn’t so much as bat an eye after getting beaned. Instead she celebrated with a fist pump!
