Daniel Murphy made a joke that will make every Mets fan cringe

Daniel Murphy’s error in Game 4 of the World Series cost the Mets dearly. 

After going to the World Series with the Mets last year, Daniel Murphy is back in playoffs again.

The Nationals second baseman spoke with the media Thursday and was asked how his prior postseason experience will benefit him this time around. His response will give Mets fans traumatic flashbacks.

Murphy is referring, of course, to his costly error in Game 4 of the World Series last year. The Mets brought in Jeurys Familia to protect a one-run lead, but then Murphy botched a routine grounder.  

The Royals went on to win 5–3 and take a commanding 3–1 lead in the series. They closed out the Mets in the next game.
