Mike and Mike hate each other

ESPN's Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic are in Year 17 of hosting the most vanilla show in sports history. In December, the two will go their separate ways as Greenberg will host his own TV show while Golic continues on radio with new partner, Trey Wingo. These last seven months should be a hoot because the two have stopped speaking to each other and the atmosphere around the show is "poisonous." Not sure why but this makes me really happy.

Rio Olympics were a total disaster

Rio de Janeiro spent about $12 billion to organize the 2016 Olympics, which were plagued by cost-cutting, poor attendance, and reports of bribes and corruption. A special prosecutor spoke at a public hearing about the Games and I can't believe what a clusterf--k the whole event was (and still is, nearly a year later).

Worst tweet of 2017

More than 20 people were killed (and another 59 injured) after an explosion at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, last night. While the world mourned, journalist David Leavitt made a really crass joke and the Internet let him have it.

Lovely Lady of the Day

Khloe Terae is an Instagram star who I really like because she has the @khloe handle instead of a certain NBA player-chasing "celeb" also named Khloe. She is today's LLOD (click for full-size gallery).

Wrestling fan gets bodyslammed on pile of thumbtacks

If you're wondering why New Jersey's St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital is $1,404 richer, it has something to do with a crazy wrestling fan and Cody Rhodes.

Jessica Simpson is kind of nuts

I haven't thought about Jessica Simpson much since 2002 or so, but she went on Ellen yesterday and had a lot of interesting things to say.

Fake homeless person gets busted

Whoever is behind the camera deserves an award for calling this woman out.

Interesting tattoo choice

This is spooky

No, I would not

Odds & ends

Section 104 at Yankee Stadium now belongs to Aaron Judge ... David West gave a perplexed look during Game 4 last night and it quickly became a meme ... Danny Ainge's son Tanner is running for a U.S Congressional seat in Utah ... David Ortiz received an honorary degree from Boston University ... I don't want to say college football players are spoiled, but a DJ booth in the locker room seems excessive ... It's not every day you see a batter get hit with his own foul ball ... If you're a skateboarder, this is the best way to propose ... Good work here by SNL's Colin Jost ... Exclusive photos from the new season of Game of Thrones.
