Eddie Hearn Reacts to Controversial Conor McGregor Comments On Immigration In Ireland
Matchroom Boxing chairman Eddie Hearn has briefly weighed in on recent controversial comments made by Conor McGregor.
Hearn and McGregor have a business relationship, with McGregor's Forged Irish Stout being an official sponsor of a few Matchroom Sport events, including this Saturday's unified female super lightweight title rematch between Chantelle Cameron and Katie Taylor.
McGregor has been quite outspoken as of late amid the murder of school teacher Ashling Murphy in Ireland. Slovak national Jozef Puška was arrested and sentenced to life in prison. There has been public outcry amid the murder, and McGregor certainly hasn't been silent on the matter.

The "Notorious" one has been calling for immigration reform, saying that Puška was "ushered in" by the Irish government with benefits despite being a convicted sex offender in his home country. Some have claimed McGregor is fanning the flames of anti-immigration. Others have been supportive of McGregor's push for reforms.
During an appearance on Ireland AM, Eddie Hearn revealed whether or not McGregor will be attending Cameron vs. Taylor 2.
"I don't believe so," Hearn said.
It's unclear if this is due to McGregor's slew of tweets on the situation in Ireland or if the stars simply aren't aligned for an appearance this time, but Hearn is more focused on putting the spotlight on the big championship rematch between Cameron and Taylor.
"I don't believe he's attending the event," Hearn said. "I don't speak on his behalf. He's obviously someone that has his own views as everybody does. For us, we're just focused on the event, obviously. We come to Dublin with the aim to grow the sport in this country. It is a celebration for Irish sport."
