Kirk Triplett takes a stand that hits close to home

The senior golfer, who adopted 2 minority children, sports a ‘Black Lives Matter’ logo on his bag at the Senior Players Championship

Spotted: Kirk Triplett, with a “Black Lives Matter” logo on his golf bag at this week’s Senior Players Championship in Akron, Ohio. Triplett, 58, is one of the first golfers on a major professional tour to have made an outward show of support for the movement. “Golf is a very insulated game,” he told PGATour.com in a video clip. “I was affected more personally this time. Having an African-American son in the house, and having to have these conversations, that’s a conversation that people around golf, it just doesn’t hit home.” He and his wife, Cathi, have four children, two of whom are adopted minorities, including their youngest child, who is Black. Triplett has won eight times on the Champions Tour after a three-victory career on the PGA Tour.
