Tom Kim Had Hilarious Answer For How He’d Celebrate Las Vegas Win as 21-Year-Old

The night before Tom Kim defended his Shriners Children’s Open title in Las Vegas, the 21-year-old was already anticipating one question in particular if he were to successfully capture the win.

“Last year you won at 20, this year you win at 21 in Vegas. What’s the celebration going to be like?” a reporter asked, as predicted by Kim.

But the Seoul, South Korea, native had an answer prepared that no one saw coming.

“I’m going to go back home. I’m going to finish a piece of chocolate that I wanted to finish, so I’m going to do that. And then I’m going to order room service, and I’m going to go to bed. Then I’m going to wake up at 3 and take my 6:30 a.m. flight. It’s going to be exciting,” Kim shared.

That’s right—Kim, a 21-year-old who just won his third PGA Tour title, apparently celebrated his one-shot victory over Adam Hadwin Sin City by eating a piece of chocolate in his hotel room.

But as Kim went on to share, it isn’t your average candy bar: “I brought it from a trip to Europe. It’s a Ferrero Rocher white chocolate,” he said. “It’s great. I’ve saved it, and it’s going to taste so good tonight.”

We sincerely hope Kim’s treat tasted as good as he imagined.

The humorous moment is the latest quip in Kim’s growing list of unforgettable quotes. Remember when he babysat Jordan Spieth’s son, Sammy? Or when he fell into a swamp at the PGA Championship and watched the replay on live TV?

At No. 11 in the world, Kim has proven himself to be a generational talent. Only Gene Sarazen, Horton Smith and 15-time major champion Tiger Woods have captured three PGA Tour wins at a younger age. Beyond his on-course accolades, Kim continues to be one of the game’s brightest personalities.
