The No. 5 Holy Family Catholic Fire (22-7) defeated the No. 4-seed Moorhead Spuds (21-8-1) 3-1 in the 2025 Minnesota high school girls hockey Class 2A Quarterfinals on Thursday at Xcel Energy Center.

The Fire held the Spuds to zero shots on goal in the first period, but they were unable to find the net themselves.

Just when it seemed like Moorhead might begin to generate the office, Addy Colin started the scoring for Holy Family with a short-handed goal. Josie Linn added the second goal for Holy Family Catholic, and the Fire took a 2-0 lead into the third period.

Moorhead cut the lead to one with a goal from Addie Moos, but Linn scored an empty-net goal to send the Fire to the semifinals.

Moorhead goalie Taylor Kressin had 32 saves in the game.

Holy Family Catholic will play No. 1 Edina in the Class 2A semifinals on Friday at 8 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center. Moorhead will play in the consolation bracket at TRIA Rink.
