The Ashland HS boys team was on the verge of becoming the first undefeated Kentucky state champion since 1948. On December 14, 2019, the team become the first in Ketucky history to win 2,000 games. With the goal of capturing a championship, Ashland was yet another team to suffer the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic. SI senior writer Pat Forde reflects on Ashland's promising season and whether or not the program missed out on truly making history.
