Aqueduct cancels again

NEW YORK (AP) Aqueduct halted the Friday card after two races, the track's third straight cancellation.

The entire cards were canceled Wednesday and Thursday due to frigid temperatures and strong wind.

The New York Racing Association cited ''increasing high winds and continued blowing snow'' for the decision to stop after two races on Friday.

Two horses broke down in the second race. Apex suffered a fatal ankle injury when he fell on the turn. Jockey Angel Arroyo was taken to the track's first-aid station and released.

Rider Andre Worrie pulled up Italian Rules after he took a bad step. The horse was vanned off the track.

Aqueduct will try again Saturday, weather permitting.
