The 146th edition of the Kentucky Derby will be postponed until September due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. The Derby is a consistent $400 million economic asset for Louisville however the CDC called for a nationwide shutdown on events with more than 50 people for the next eight weeks. The Kentucky Derby has been held every year since 1985 and only twice outside the month of May.
