ACC's Top 10 Players
Sam Swank, K, Sr.
Swank enters this season as the nation's active career leader with 60 field goals. He is a perfect 106-for-106 in PAT attempts over his career.
Brian Toal, LB, Sr.
He returns to action after taking a medical redshirt in 2007. In 2006, he doubled as a fullback in short-yardage situations, leading the Eagles with six rushing touchdowns.
Aaron Kelly, WR, Sr.
At 6-foot-5, 190 pounds, Kelly is a tall order for college cornerbacks. He was the conference's most dominant receiver last season, catching 88 balls for 1,081 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Myron Rolle, SS, Jr.
This future first-round pick does everything from the safety position. He's big (6-foot-2, 218 pounds), fast, solid in coverage and brings the heat on run support.
C.J. Spiller, RB, Jr.
Clemson's homerun threat out of the backfield is one of the most exciting players to watch in college football. Combining lightning speed and fabulous juking ability, Spiller is almost impossible to take down in the open field.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Jr.
Heyward-Bey may be the fastest receiver in America. He has great size (6-foot-3, 206), which is partly why NFL scouts are drooling over him.
Alphonso Smith, CB, Sr.
The relentless ballhawk led the nation with eight interceptions (three of which he returned for touchdowns). Smith headlines what could be the best defense in the ACC.
Cullen Harper, QB, Sr.
Harper enjoyed surprising success as a first-year starter in 2007, throwing 27 touchdowns to just six interceptions and rewriting the Clemson record books. If Clemson lives up to expectations, Harper could be a sleeper Heisman candidate.
Victor "Macho" Harris, CB, Sr.
After initially declaring for the 2008 NFL draft, Harris returned for his senior season. Combining jaw-dropping athleticism with notable size (6-foot, 195 pounds), Harris is one of the premier defensive backs in college football.
James Davis, RB, Sr.
As the workhorse of Clemson's fabulous backfield duo, Davis hits holes hard and rarely goes down at first contact. He rushed for 3,130 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns during his first three seasons.
