Interesting Things Going On In July

Marisa Miller :: Raphael Mazzucco/SI

One week from today is July 1. Do you know what that means? As reader Dan Behrens, of Belleville, Ill., points out, July is National Bikini Month. However, for some people, a bikini is actually too much clothing. From a press release sent from the American Association for Nude Recreation to SI.com: "Here's a sporting event for the record books: The Guinness World Records Organization has just created a new category for the largest number of people simultaneously skinny-dipping. ... Skinny-dipping, a wholesome tradition as old as mankind and frequently honored in art and movies, celebrates the natural joy of plunging into water without hindrance of clothing. AANR plans to coordinate skinny-dipping events at participating clubs and legally sanctioned nude beaches throughout North America on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at 3 p.m. Eastern Nudist Time, as an exciting finale to Nude Recreation Week (July 5-11, 2009)." I'll go out on a limb and say not too many of you will celebrate Nude Recreation Week, but we all should celebrate National Bikini Month, especially when new video of Marisa Miller, Miranda Kerr and Alessandra Ambrosio in bikinis hits the Internet.

Smooth Spadea

If you're looking for a player to support at Wimbledon, Vince Spadea is your man. As Rumors & Rants points out, there is this classic exchange between a reporter and Spadea -- "Reporter: What was the last sporting event you've been to, not tennis-related? Spadea: I was at the parking lot of the Lakers game. I almost made it in. I was trying to get some tickets on the slide. We waited until the first half was over and it was still three-hundy each for two tickets and I decided that the $50 parking fee was enough." And if that's not enough, there's Spadea's rapping, if you can call it rapping.

The Diesel Is At It Again

Shaq NEVER disappoints. Last night he challenged a guy who made a YouTube of himself hitting ridiculous shot after ridiculous shot to a game of H-O-R-S-E for $1,000. (Thanks to Siddik, of Toronto, for the link.)

Red Sox + Country Music = Just Kill Me

Yesterday's Hot Clicks featured a video of Peyton Manning singing with Kenny Chesney. I was being honest and mentioned that I didn't know the song they were performing. A few of you wrote in and called me a disgrace, among other things. This is the extent of my country music knowledge. Sorry. Now, let's move on to this e-mail from Sean, of China, Maine: "Hey Jimmy, great posts, as always, but I've got the Kenny Chesney/Peyton Manning vids beat. Myself, my wife and a couple of friends always go down to Gillette Stadium to watch Kenny at the New England Country Music Festival. Well, last year, Kenny brought out about a dozen Sox/Patriots/Bruins players on stage with him for two different songs, including Tedy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel, Mike Timlin, Tim Wakefield and Jacoby Ellsbury. The place went nuts (we also broke into a rousing 'Yankees Suck' chant. Sorry.). Here's a video I found on YouTube of the party breaking out on stage. As always, Kenny Chesney sold out Gillette and put on his best show ever."

Put A Star Next To This One

If you're over the age of, say, 12, it's kinda pathetic to bring a glove to a baseball game. But it's not pathetic to use a box that your food came in to catch a foul ball.

Sports Video Of The Day

Many of you may be familiar with sideline reporter Charissa Thompson, who covers NFL games for Fox and works for the Big Ten Network. Charissa, like all other sideline reporters, always draws comparisons to the one and only Erin Andrews. If you don't believe me, just check out this tremendous song by Ryan Parker, set to Bostons' classic tune Amanda.

Scrubs Video Of The Day

Anytime I think of the band Boston, as mentioned above, I automatically think of this.

Jimmy Kimmel Video Of The Day

I meant to link this up earlier this week. Last Friday, Jimmy Kimmel did his awesome This Week in Unnecessary Censorship bit. The first clip is over Stuart Scott introducing David Stern, and it's CLASSIC!

Bikinis And Burgers Video Of The Day

Since Hot Clicks started with talk about bikinis, how about taking a look at a new commercial featuring Audrina Patridge from The Hills? It's not bad, but it can't compete with this gem from Padma Lakshmi.
