Are We Still Pretending Poker Is A Sport?

I never understood why the sports media started covering poker a few years ago. Oh, yeah, because it aired on ESPN. Silly me. Anyway, today I'm grateful that everyone was fooled into acting like poker had some sports connection because it allows me to introduce you to Megan Abrigo (pics here, Q&A here). Many of you in Hot Clicks Nation have written in about Abrigo. She is the co-host of the new NBC show, Face the Ace. The show airs on Saturdays at 8 p.m. and here is the premise via NBC: "The show features four smoked-glass doors that hold behind each a world-class professional poker player. In each episode, one or more lucky contestants get to pick an 'Ace' and their opponent will emerge from behind one of the doors. They will play an exhilarating heads-up no limit hold'em game that requires aggression, poise and bluffing."

Madden Madness

Madden NFL 10 comes out Friday. Here's a thorough review of the game. Meanwhile, Sean, of Syracuse, N.Y., says, "You know, with all of this Michael Vick stuff, no one is asking the real question: Is he available in Madden NFL 10? I don't know if you've ever played Madden, but from 2002 to 2004, all you had to do was fake pitch QB roll out with Vick and you would not lose a game. Also, if he is in the game, what do you think his rating would be?" Here is the answer to that question.

E-Mail Of The Day

Justin, of Washington, D.C., says, "Jimmy, loved the link to the 100 funniest sports photos of all time. I was disappointed to discover that my favorite -- and funniest -- photo of all time didn't make the cut, which I think is a travesty. For Hot Clicks Nation, I think it's important to get this picture posted. Keep up the spectacular work!"

Throwing Helmet At Pitcher = Very Weak

Kevin Youkilis, Rick Porcello :: AP

For both sides of last night's Red Sox-Tigers brawl, you can check out Detroit4Lyfe.com, which has full, comprehensive coverage of Rick Porcello owning Kevin Youkilis, and Red Sox Monster, which theorizes that Youkilis is tired of getting hit by pitches. But for fans of every team in baseball, you can read this e-mail from Dominick, of Yorktown, N.Y.: "So I'm sure 1,000 people have already sent you links, comments and other banter about the Kevin Youkilis/Rick Porcello fight. But I'm sending you this e-mail for two reasons:1) Attached is a file of the fight, figured it's going to get removed from YouTube quickly [Ed. Note: You can watch it here]; 2) I don't know if you watched ESPN, but the genius that is Steve Phillips said that Youkilis actually threw down Porcello ... Youkilis threw down Porcello? Are you kidding me? I've seen the toss about 100 times now, and it's clear Youkilis got taken down like a b----. That being said, I'm sick and tired of Steve Phillips. Everything out of this guy's mouth is a joke. He has no right being associated with baseball or sports! I just started a Twitter account, @FireStvePhilips. I'm going to try and gather the troops up to take him down. It's time he actually listens to the fans and steps away."

Speaking Of Twitter Accounts To Follow ...

The folks behind SI's Swimsuit issue are on Twitter. They're sending out exclusive pics of your favorite models (including Bar Refaeli), taking questions and even giving you a chance to pick the bathing suits worn by the models.

This Is What Happens Without Spellcheck

It's always funny when a fan goes through the trouble of making a sign, but then spells something wrong. (Thanks to Billy Z., of Vienna, Va., for the link.)

The Hot Clicks Facebook page has been updated with new links, and you can always get more stuff throughout the day via Twitter.

Sports Video Of The Day

Once football starts, I'm not posting any more of these trick basketball shot videos, but this one has to be seen.

Catching Computers Video Of The Day

I know this is fake, but it's still funny to watch.

Commercial Of The Day

I'm assuming this Hardee's commercial is banned from airing on television. (Thanks to Mike, of San Diego, for the link.)
