Redskins fans, there might be signs of hope in D.C., after all. We're hearing that there's a strong belief within the Redskins organization that the fates of coach Jim Zorn and V.P. of football operations Vinny Cerrato are tied together. So if/when Zorn goes, Cerrato could be dumped, too. (There's a chance Zorn would go after the Eagles game next Monday, and that Cerrato wouldn't be fired until after the season ends.) Valentine a finalist for Indians job
Bobby Valentine, whose New York Mets reached the World Series in 2000, is one of the finalists for the vacant Indians manager's job. Valentine, 59, it has been learned, will come to Cleveland this week for a second interview. He is expected to be one of "three to five" finalists to interview with GM Mark Shapiro and assistant GM Chris Antonetti. (Cleveland Plain Dealer)Comment
Will Quebec City be put ahead of Kansas City, Las Vegas and other American cities looking to land a hockey club? Neither Bill Daly nor Gary Bettman will comment on a possible ranking as far as Quebec is concerned.
