A Special 25th Anniversary

Early this afternoon, I'm getting a chance to interview Jon Bon Jovi. What does this have to do with sports? Absolutely nothing. I'm just a big fan. But the band released its first album way back in 1984, which featured Runaway. That year is the subject of this great post by BroBible.com, which looks at the impact 1984 had on pop culture and how we're still feeling the effects 25 years later. Bro Bible has somehow managed to link together Doug Flutie's Hail Mary pass; Hulk Hogan beating The Iron Shiek; George Michael's Sports Machine; the debut of The Cosby Show; and the start of Who's the Boss, which brought Alyssa Milano into so many of our lives. I'd imagine Alyssa is very down today after her Dodgers were eliminated by the Phillies last night, so I'd just like to say the Yankees' bandwagon is open and we'd love to have you aboard for the rest of the postseason. Clearly, you have the apparel for it and it suits you very well.

Speaking Of The Phillies...

So, how did Phillies fans celebrate their team making the World Series for the second straight year? First, they booed the mention of TBS during the postgame ceremonies, then they cursed on TV and fell off some taxis. But falling off the taxi wasn't as bad as what happened toBrett Myers during the celebration. (Thanks to Shawn, of West Chester, Pa., for the link.)

Better Phillies Videos

These two videos are so good they deserve their own entry. The first is an awesome mashup of Jimmy Rollins' game-winning hit from Monday and Goodfellas. The second is a blooper from a local Fox anchor who had some trouble with Carlos Ruiz's nickname, Chooch. (Thanks to Mike, of West Chester, Pa., and Steve and Brett, of Newtown, Pa., for the first link and Fran D., of Glenside, Pa., and Eunan Hendron, of Philadelphia, for the second.)

Cherry On Top

The OHL's Kingston Frontenacs recently held "Military Night," which featured Don Cherryentering the ice on top of a tank and the team wearing a jersey that resembled one of Cherry's wild suits.

Heads Or Tails?

The coin flip before NFL overtime games may have just gotten a little more interesting.

Researching The Refs

Yesterday's Hot Clicks told you about The Replacement Refs, a new blog dedicated to all things officiating. Well, now the atrocious refereeing and umpiring in sports these days has led to this-- a look at what these guys get paid and what they do for other jobs.

Drunk Guy Video Of The Day

Over the past week, about a million of you have sent me the video of the drunk guy falling down in a convenience store at 10 a.m. I didn't put it in Hot Clicks until now because I was waiting for the Benny Hill remix version.
