Tyler Hansbrough is hoping for good news. [Hansbrough] will visit with his doctor today to see if he can be cleared to take part in contact drills. Hansbrough has been dealing with an inner ear infection/concussion/vertigo for nearly nine months. "It would be disappointing (if I wasn't cleared), but at the same time, I feel like I'm right around the corner," he said. ... Hansbrough was originally injured when he took a shot to the head during a game at Boston last December. He returned for a handful of games in January and said he was dealing with dizziness. Saints eye Betts to replace Bush
The Saints will take another look at 31-year-old Ladell Betts, a 5-foot-11, 225-pounder who reportedly suffered a torn anterior cruciate knee ligament last season, in the wake of Reggie Bush's broken right leg. Betts, who spent most of the preseason with the Saints before being released on the final cut-down day, will come in for a workout, a league source confirmed. (The Times-Picayune)Comment
All things considered, Kendry Morales, who was lost for the season in a celebration injury, will close 2011 on a positive note. [Morales] is "a little bit ahead of schedule" in his rehabilitation from a fracture in his lower left leg, and the Angels first basemen, who went down with the season-ending injury on May 29, expects a full recovery for 2011. ... The Angels went 20-8 in the 28 games following Morales' injury, but they couldn't compensate for the four-month loss of the slugger -- the team's offensive struggles are the primary reason the Angels will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
