What can Brown do for Kevin Kolb? Jake Delhomme still isn't practicing, Seneca Wallace never has faced the Baltimore Ravens and now a report has surfaced that the Browns contacted the Philadelphia Eagles about the availability of Kevin Kolb. ... With both Delhomme and Wallace throwing costly interceptions at critical times in consecutive weeks, a Philadelphia radio station reported Wednesday that the Browns contacted the Eagles about Kolb's availability hours after it was announced he had lost the Eagles' starting job. Browns General Manager Tom Heckert, who came from the Eagles, drafted Kolb in the second round in 2007 out of the University of Houston. (Beacon Journal)Comment
If Tony Parker is the Spurs' most valuable asset, the team may look to flip him. If the Spurs don't begin their season well, they will look to deal their most tradeable asset. And, when the season is over, they could lose Parker to free agency, no matter how well he plays. A probable lockout adds more variables to the equation. A new collective bargaining agreement could mean limits on contract lengths and averages, and it also means the Spurs could be in an entirely different bargaining position with Parker. At least one report has Ryne Sandberg being considered for the Blue Jays' managerial opening. Sandberg is believed to be the front-runner for the Cubs' gig, at least by the public, but Chicago has not committed to him and it would only serve his cause to have multiple clubs handing him offers. The Blue Jays also have a "long list" of other candidates, according to Morosi. Current Toronto skipper Cito Gaston is stepping down at the end of the 2010 season. (NBC Sports)Comment
