Orton rips Titans as cheap shot artists
Kyle Orton, who went 35-of-50 for 341 yards, two TDs and a win, left a few postgame parting shots for the Titans defense. "You always hear about how tough they are and all that stuff," Orton said. "I don't think they are tough. I think they are cheap, and it was one of the cheapest games that I've ever seen out of some of those players." ... Martz to blame for Cutler's injury?
Jay Cutler was sacked nine times -- nine ... times -- Sunday night before the second half. Cutler didn't get a whole lot of help from offensive coordinator Mike Martz, who kept calling plays that involved seven-step drops by the quarterback. A seven-step drop was like walking the plank Sunday night. What happened to the Martz who made in-game adjustments against the Cowboys? The result of all those bad things was a badly abused Cutler and a 17-3 Giants victory. The Bears are 3-1, and that record has a distinctly different feel than the 3-0 record they brought to New Meadowlands Stadium. It feels very, very fragile. (Chicago Sun-Times)Comment
Carmelo Anthony reportedly wants to be traded to a big market -- to both win a title and maximize his marketability. Sources previously said he was interested in going to New Jersey, a franchise that will move to Brooklyn in a couple of years. Anthony, who has never gone public with his demands, was asked about his marketing prowess, and he said: "As far as marketing, it comes from winning. If I ain't winning, then nobody wants me to market their product." So he was asked: "Then why would you want to play for the team that won 12 games last season?"
