Jerry Jones: 'I believe in Wade Phillips'

As Jerry Jones spoke Sunday night, he said he is no longer optimistic. On Tuesday, everything was a little brighter. "We're being dominant in our fronts in many cases. Dominant. And you win the game usually when you are playing that well," Jones said. "We took the tape apart yesterday and looked at the play of every player, looked at his effort, looked at the things that we're doing and those usually win ballgames. If you keep putting that foot in front of the other, I believe in these guys, I believe in the coaching staff, I believe in Wade Phillips. I believe we can turn this thing around. While it's going against us we can make all the things happen that we wanted to do this year." (Dallas Morning News)Comment

West regrets passing on Stoudemire

Jerry West used to be the Grizzlies' president of basketball operations. He served Memphis in that role for five years, ending in 2007. Quibble if you will about West's personnel moves but he undoubtedly made the Grizzlies relevant mainly because he orchestrated the best of times in team history. But is there anything you would have done differently? "Oh gosh, yes. The year we drafted Drew Gooden. He has been in the league a long time. But we could have had Amar'e Stoudemire. He would have added some cache and star power to this team. It's not that Drew is a bad player but Stoudemire is a star. We didn't look at him the way we should have," West said. Inside Fenway Park's makeover

The Boston Red Sox, in the final phase of a decade-long makeover of Fenway Park, have begun off-season improvements designed to bring a high-definition, statistics-laden video experience to the oldest ballpark in the major leagues. Three new video boards, one measuring 38 feet high by 100 feet wide, will replace two existing boards above the outfield and offer vivid replays, player data, and game-specific information that fans can expect while watching the ballgame in their living rooms, officials said.
