Thousands of fans enjoyed the prerace festivities at Pimlico.
Just like at the Kentucky Derby, stylish hats were all the rage at the track.
And they're off ... a full field of 14 took part in the 136th Preakness Stakes.

The last horse to sweep the Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes was Affirmed in 1978. Big Brown (2008) was the last with a chance to win the Triple Crown.
