The word from various reporters is that the NFL lockout is about to end. Truth be told, I didn't pay much attention to the day-to-day updates throughout the mess. I just wanted to know when the season was back on so I could focus on fantasy, betting and locking myself in my TV room from noon to midnight each Sunday. However, as things started to settle this week, we're told that there are still a couple of hold-ups, including a lawsuit that Peyton Manning and Drew Brees (among others) had filed against the NFL, and the free agent status of wide receiver Vincent Jackson and offense linemanLogan Mankins. This didn't sit well with Vikings punter (and great Tweeter) Chris Kluwe, who took to Twitter yesterday and called those guys "douchebags." This prompted Brees to Tweet his side of the story. (Speaking of Twitter, you can follow me right here.)

This kid at last night's Giants game thought he had a chance to catch a foul ball, but a woman in the row in front of his came away with the souvenir. And he was PISSED!

This. Is. Awesome.

Check out the shifty slide Tigers first baseman Victor Martinez pulled off to score a run last night.

Play Of The Night

Friends with Benefits, opening this Friday, had its premiere party Monday night. Naturally, Mila Kunis, who stars in the film with Justin Timberlake (more on him below), was there. As a bonus, Entourage's Emmanuelle Chriquiwas in attendance, too. Sure, they've both been in Hot Clicks recently, but how could I pass up these ladies in red?

The always amusing Steve Nash brings the funny again in this solid commercial. (Thanks to Lon Petrini, of Raleigh, N.C., for the link.)

The SI.com office is located in the heart of midtown Manhattan. This is basically the worst area in all of New York City. One of the main things we're lacking -- besides an affordable lunch place with good food -- is a top-notch sports bar. Let me tell you a quick story about how serious a problem this is. On the night of the NFL Draft, I went to a local restaurant/bar with my friend, Sal Licata from SNY TV in New York. Unfortunately for Sal, he's a Mets fan, and wanted to watch their game that night. The bar wouldn't put it on. They had on the Yankees game, some NHL playoff game and the NFL Draft. They told him they had to leave those on and couldn't put the Mets on even one of the many TVs in the place. Remember, this is a bar in NEW YORK CITY. The point of this story? Midtown needs more sports bars and no matter what town a sports bar is in, it needs to follow these rules for having the perfect establishment.

Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake have taken us through the history of rap once before. They came through with Part 2 last night.
