The sport is corrupt, cheating is rampant, the people involved are shady, the bowl system is terrible and the NCAA is a joke. Having said that, everyone is thrilled that the 2011 college football season kicks off tonight. (No. 11 Wisconsin is the top-ranked team in action against UNLV.) To celebrate, here are the 50 greatest plays in college football history and the 20 biggest hits from last season.

When you're Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee and you're tossing 8 2/3 innings of shutout ball with seven strikeouts last night against the Reds, I say you don't have to run out ground balls. And clearly, Lee agreed based on this clip, which features Lee hand waving (that's for you Mike Francesa fans) his attempt at running and a funny discussion among the announcers.

He Chooses Not To Run

This interview between ESPN's Chris Fowler and Andy Roddick, following Roddick's U.S. Open win last night, has caused a bit of a buzz in the blogosphere and on Twitter. Roddick said that the easiest job in the world is tennis analyst. Some people are classifying this as Roddick "lashing out." Personally, I didn't see that. I thought Roddick was just having fun and being loose, not nasty. I also think it's refreshing when an athlete gives an honest interview and says some interesting stuff instead of spewing cliche after cliche.

Much Ado About Nothing

This photoshoot from Australian model Shanina Shaik is pretty good.

Shaqseems to be enjoying his retirement. ... Folks in Alabama still hateTim Tebow. ... Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun came so close to an inside-the-park home run last night -- until he fell down rounding third.

Cameron, of Southaven, Miss., says, "Hey, Jimmy. How about every once in a while featuring a hot male of the day for your female fans? I have the prefect candidate in honor of the U.S. Open. I realize that this has been seen a lot, but in my opinion not enough. I give youRafael Nadal's Armani Ad."

Equal Opportunity

Once again, Hot Clicks is running an NFL Pick 'Em Pool. All you have to do is pick each game each week WITH THE POINT SPREAD. Whomever has the most correct picks at the end of the season wins a prize package. I don't know what that is yet, but I will keep you posted. Anyway, you should be able to join the pool right here. The league ID is Hot Clicks (or 59414) and the password is hotclicks. Good luck.

Get In The Pool

This is pretty impressive. Jerrod Johnson, who lost his job as Texas A&M's starting quarterback last season (and is now in Eagles camp), just released this video in which he sings a song thanking Aggie fans for their support. (Thanks to Patrick G., of College Station, Texas, for the link.)
